Over all great product. Love how it connects to Alexa so you can tell Alexa to turn it on and off without getting up. Would be nice if it told the app how long it runs for (timer) instead of just showing how much power it’s using.But it did save us from a freezing winter night in Idaho when the app said the plug was offline, we investigated further and found the power in that part of the house was not working! Very nice having it to put my husbands mind at ease to be sure the attic isn’t freezing over at night without physically going up in the attic every night.

Instead of buying a $200++ product that monitors every powersource in the house, I opted to may $24 and get two TG smart outlets. The real purpose is monitoring my plug-in solar inverters and having a way to shut them off from the outlet. This has been HUGELY HUGELY beneficial. I can monitor the power output of my inverters into the outlet. I can shut them off remotely by shutting off the outlet (anti-islanding disable inverters). And I can set up schedules so the inverters shut off at sun down then turn on again at sunrise!! And it keeps track of the # of kWh that my inverter supplies in a day. VERY COOL.Initial setup is a bit confusing as you need to hold the connect button much longer than you initially think. But once you figure that out, it connects quickly and simply.

I have these all over my house. I know exactly how much electricity each device is using, how many hours it's been using it, I could turn the devices on and off with my phone even if I'm not home, I can estimate my electrical bill before I even get it and it's almost always accurate to what the app says. Just a fantastic nerd product if you're interested in electricity usage around your house or you just want to reduce the electricity usage around the house. Like certain products even when they're turned off they draw electricity you could turn off the little outlet and no more free electricity for it turned off devices.

I needed to know the power consumption of a server I have at home. It runs all day, and runs loud. It sits in the basement. I had bought another device to measure power consumption, but it required you to physically go to the plug, and push a button to see the reading. It didn't have a backlight either, making it difficult to read the numbers. This device continuously monitors consumption, and I can view it on my phone anywhere in the house. I don't intend to use the on / off function, obviously, but I am sure it would work. The design also allows the second socket to be used, unlike the round variety which ends up blocking the second socket.

Five minutes out of the box, I downloaded the app and was getting usage my portable ac unit! I bought a 4 pack so that I could monitor my electronics and fans. These are a great way to monitor usage and start your new Smart Home. I do not have Alexa so I did not try that but from the app on my phone you can turn them off and on as well. Great way to cool off the house before you get there if you have a air conditioner plugged in to one.

I loved these plugs, in fact, they were my first experience with a wi-fi plug. I had two of them and they were both easy to setup, but I noticed after about 6 months, they were starting to give me problems. They would start needing me to repeat a command before it would turn off or on. Then, after about 6 months in, they both just decided to not work at all! You could not hear the "Click" inside of the plug, disconnecting/connecting anymore when you asked Alexa to turn it off or on. It was as though the internal part of the plug broke. They still connect to the wi-fi, they just don't function anymore. I have to manually push the button on the plug to turn it off or on. I ended up trashing them, as I don't trust them anymore. Will be buying a different brand.....

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this so I could get some tracking data on the usage of my solar tracker. I was using a Kill-a-Watt like meter to see the power being generated, but it didn't’ have any historical data, this device does show the power going through my grid tie inverter but it may not be very accurate as you can see from my video.I hope Top Greener makes the stats/history data better in the future, it would be nice to also be able to export the data (csv) and se hour-by-hour data.

these are awesome, bought them for my boyfriend so he could turn off his lamp that’s across the room while he is laying in bed. took a long time to get it to connect but other than that we love it
