Great buy for the money
Great Radio for the price. Excellent quality, Worked great right out of the box. Feels like $100, radio fantastic built quality.

This BAOFENG UV-17 PRO GPS comes with firmware v1.07 which is not perfect but certainly usable. The best news is that this version of the firmware can be easily updated to v1.11 which seems to solve the little annoyances of earlier firmware that randomly scrambled your programmed banks. No problems at all programming this radio with C.H.I.R.P. or the enhanced UV-17 PRO GPS programming software by Terri Kennedy. With either software you can organize your 999 channels into 10 separate banks which makes this a very useful scanner in addition to the usual TWO-WAY RADIO functions. Aircraft reception is fair with distortion evident on stronger signals. This is a common problem with these radios but the feature is still usable. The GPS function was compatible with my BTECH BF-F8HP PRO so that was a nice bonus. Overall this is a good price for this unit. It arrived a day before it was promised and was packaged very well. Everything shown in the picture was there including the second longer antenna.
