Over in the Meadow (Singalong) Paperback – Picture Book, 1 Mar. 2012

I bought this because we have other music singalong books with the voice of Susan Reed and I think her voice is very pleasant for both child and adult. I find it hard to come across music of a nursery ryhme style that isn't too grating, or over the top.Over in the Meadow was not a song I'd encountered before, only as a poem written slightly differently in an American poem/story book whch we own, and my eldest toddler is always requesting that particular poem, so I thought this would go down well. I did not realise at first that the book and CD are just about the one song, I initially thought it was a collection of songs on book and CD with 'Over in the Meadow' being the main focus. I'd never usually pay near £10 for so little, but the whole package is of exceptional quality. It is in fact just the one song with a new verse on each page of the book, and a CD with the one song on it, but the pictures are drawn beautifully and spark question and intrigue, and the CD has both a sung version of the song and an acoustic version afterward, so this added to its worth.A great tool for parents, babysitters or child carers and so on to sing along to and get the children to join in with. My boys enjoy this with or without the book, and sometimes as the music is so cheerful I stick it on repeat a few times while they are playing or colouring in etc. My eldest who loves to sing (2 and a half) is now coming out with the lyrics every now and then, and of course the nature of the song (going from one to ten) makes it a handy counting tool for my youngest too.Over all, I have to give it five stars, although I'm sure if it were anyone else other than Susan Reed I would have given a 3 or 4. Why can't they employ more talented women with kids to sing cheerfully onto CD with a well played instrument? There is a lot of corny children's music out there it seems. This is lovely, and might I add, would make a really great gift for any little person, say from about 1 to 4 years old! Worth the money.

The illustrations and narrative text in this book are beautiful. I wanted a counting book which goes up to ten and this does. It captures children's attention and holds it. The accompanying CD is absolutely brilliant but be warned once it gets inside your head it gets stuck there!!

Love this book, you can go online and find the tune to the song, it’s even better when sung!!

Lovely book I bought for my children at the nursery where I work....they love it and it has a wonderful calming effect when the weathers bad and our little ones are struggling with less time outdoors.

I originally bought this for my 2 year old son as he loves music, it was that nice I took it to the nursery I work at - I had 16, 2-3 year olds in complete silence whilst they listened to this lovely story/rhyme time cd.

We were already familiar with this song but my little girl absolutely loves the fact you can sing along to the CD with pictures too. This book is a firm favourite and has remained so for a long while now. The artwork is superb too.

My son loves watching the video to this book on YouTube so his face lit up once it arrived yesterday. His favourite. One happy boy

This is one of my favorite book. I bought it used. I found the song from YouTube first and it was just such a pleasant song that I went ahead and look for the book. I also bought additional ones for friends and family. It's a beautiful book with nice drawing, that you can sing or read to your child. The lyrics/ content teaches concept of numbers, animals names, animal sounds, and much more. You can also use it to teach a child 5W questions. One of the best book you can use for your little ones before bed time.

The book is nice but doesn’t look new and most importantly the CD was missing

Tenho muitos livros dessa editora. Meu filho gosta da maioria deles. Não uso os cds. Assistimos aos vídeos, cantamos juntos e em outro momento retomo a música com ele ao ler o livro. As ilustrações são sempre maravilhosas e o ritmo é cativante. Aconselho assistir aos vídeos antes de comprar. Sempre compro quando tem promoção (leve 3 pague 2), pois eles são meio caros. No mais, vale muito o investimento para quem deseja ensinar inglês ao filho.

Las ilustraciones están hermosas, a mi niña de 4 años le gustó, está aprendiendo inglés así que le sirve, también practicamos contar en inglés con éste libro. Viene con un CD y con la dirección de una página donde puedes escuchar la canción que se ve en la historia y el video que está animado con las ilustraciones del libro. Precioso!!

Bellissime illustrazioni, canzoncina stupenda (nel cd allegato), simpatica la filastrocca. È abbastanza lunga, con tante parole. Per iniziare i bambini all'inglese ci sono libri più semplici della stessa collana. Ma per un livello più avanzato la trovo una bellissima soluzione per apprendere nuovi terminiConsegna veloce
