These work really well. I tossed out our old nightlights as these do the job very nicely. The recharge feature is excellent, and I am ordering 4 more.

I have a dark area in my hallway, and the light switch is not near the bedroom door. This little light is just right to come on when the kids have to go to the bathroom, and yet not stay on too long.There are a couple of things I really like:+ The single LED is quite bright, but because there is only one bulb, the batteries will last longer.+ The LED shines downwards, reflecting on a white surface. The downward angle makes this great for illuminating the floor, and the white surface reflects the light well to work on the rest of the area.+ The design is pure genius. There is no lens covering the LED, which is housed in a recessed location at the top of the reflective area. That means there is nothing to fade over time, and that the light is a pure white, maximizing the lumens for the amount of battery used.+ The auto off feature runs for about 30 seconds, just right for getting down the hall (even at night when groggy from sleep).Summary: This is a great light for those areas that are not near a power plug. Highly recommended.Please note that I received this at a discounted price, so I could review it.------------Design Notes:The light is small, at 3.25 X 3.75 X .5 inches. It has a single switch, for ON/OFF/AUTO. In Auto mode, it detects movement, so if anything living moves, the light comes on. It comes with a mount that can be either double stick (the provide the sticky disc for this purpose), or screwed into the wall. The light slides off the mount easilty, but is still secure when in place. It recharges with a MicroUSB cable (they provide a six inch one). It also comes with a Velcro cable tie, but I think that is just advertisement because it seems to have no use for the light.

We have a double stairwell in my house, where the stairs go down, then you have a large area to either exit the front door or to turn and continue down yet another flight of stairs.  At night, this has been treacherous and we often trip over shoes or clothing that gets left there when people enter the house.  It has turned into a bit of a storage area for walking shoes.  Convenient during the day, a little dangerous at night.  I avoid turning on the lights at night because there is none directly for the stairwells - just the bright one that lights up not only the stairs but also our kitchen and living room as well.  That wakes up my husband and has been known to keep me awake at night too.  I ordered this particular nightlight for the stair area because it casts the light a little more downward (depending on how you mount it) than it does outwardly.  It still gives off excellent light, but it really works well for me because it focuses that light a good distance down the stairs.  I mounted this just above the center partition.  It picks up on me as I head down the stairs and then, because of where I mounted it, the light casts down both flights of stairs, as it divides the light over the partition in our stairwell.  It works really well and has definitely helped to keep us from tripping over the previously unseen shoes and other items that we have there.  I'm really happy with it!Disclosure: I was given the opportunity review this item at a special price for me to test and evaluate for the purpose of supplying my honest and unbiased review.
