Better Than Expected
When I read a few of the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I got it today and put it to the test sanding a bunch of epoxy on my boat. It worked great. I have a larger belt sander but it hurts my elbow after a while because of the weight and I can't get into the smaller spaces. This solved both of those issues. A few people mentioned it heating up. It did, but no more than my other belt sanders ever did. I was also worried that it didn't have variable speed and it was going to be too aggressive but it was a nice easy speed that took off a good amount of material without being out of control. I used to have a similar porter cable small belt sander, and although this isn't quit as compact I think it is the best of what's available currently. I will be putting it to the test all week so if something happens I will update my review but for now - 5 stars!

Great Sander
I love this thing. Currently have 6 belt sanders of various sizes; bench top, floor standing, detail bench top, and 3 handhelds of various sizes. This is my smallest handheld and works perfectly for tight spaces. As mentioned by others, the hand hold does get warm but it's really not an issue. Have about 20 hours on it now and still looks/works like new.

Changed switches from previous models
Previous model had a flip switch. Very easy to use one handed and turn on and off. New one you need 2 hands to to keep it on. Its really a shame.

Need a palm held belt sander, if so this is for you.
Easily held by one hand. Ideal for edge sanding a project. I had made a walnut counter top to fit from wall to wall. I used this to form fit it for a tight no caulking fit. It performed perfectly.

Used exactly 2 times before it failed
Had high hopes for this after not being able to get the legendary Porter Cable 371K (why did they stop selling this????!!) This sander is a bit bigger but actually very ergonomic. I am a finish carpenter and this size of sander is perfect for small projects and sanding to a perfect scribe. Used this about 30-40 minutes the first time, taking some saw marks out of very soft clear cedar. Worked good, although it did get a little warm in my hand.Next time i used it, within 2 minutes it got too hot to hold and started making a horrible rattling noise like the bearings were about to go out. I'm bummed out about it, because I think it would work pretty good for what I need but basically got less than one hour of use out of this. Maybe I got a lemon, but I don't think the quality is there. Tried to return it but its not 'eligible'. lol

A fine idea, poorly designed, and badly manufactured.
Having a small belt sander of this size seems like a great idea, that's debatable. And this seems like a well made unit, that's not likely.Granted, I've only had this tool for a few days...but in that time I've discovered a few shortcomings and not many strong points. The small form factor makes for a hard to control, if powerful tool. I managed to leave some substantial gouges in the piece I used it on. The small footprint leads to a front to back rocking action that's hard to avoid. This rocking action allows the drive wheels to hit the surface thus gouging the material.Additionally, after using the unit for a continuous 20minutes, it got hot. I mean hard to hold hot. And whenever it's on, it smells like its melting.Yea it's a chinese tool, which I try to avoid. I try to avoid them because the tools are a lot like this one. It's small +Its powerful +It's fairly cheap +It's hard to control and it can gouge material badly -It smells and feels like it will melt in the mid to near future -All in all, keep it away from expensive wood unless you're trying to remove chainsaw marks. And when you use it...do so in 2 minutes intervals, while shopping for a nicer belt sander.

Perfect for scribing cabinets
Plenty of power. Weighs as much as the Porter cable, only more maneuverable.

A small work horse!
Used for restoring a 1950s fiberglass boat. It works great for areas where larger belt sanders are not practical.

Very appropriate for one hand uses
This sander is easily used for one handed sanding. Perfect for holding a piece with one hand and sanding with the other. Excellent for those tough to sand areas.

Excelente producto y excelente marca , tiene un poniente motor a pesar de ser compacta , ajuste rápido de la banda , el producto viene con tres lijas lista para trabajar.

Good quality
I like the power of the unit. The on/off switch is a bit awkward. I need both hands to lock it in on position. Feels a bit bulky in my hand. There's still a burning smell even though I've used quite a bit already. I'm hoping that's the brushes working in. There is also a vent right under the hand hold that blows extremely hot air out, so you have to reposition not to get burned. Plus side lots of power and higher RPM than my defunct Porter Cable sander.

Four Stars
Nice little machine. Runs smoothly, and dust collector does a decent job when hooked up to a vacuum.

Doesn't last
It was great while it worked. But after mild use over a few months, it died. Clearly it's not built to last.
